Apple Treat Squares (Printable Version)

# What You’ll Need:

01 - 1½ cups all-purpose flour.
02 - 1 cup granulated sugar, split.
03 - ½ teaspoon table salt.
04 - ½ cup chilled unsalted butter.
05 - 4 cups thinly sliced apples.
06 - 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice.
07 - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
08 - 1 egg, whisked.
09 - 1/3 cup canned evaporated milk.
10 - 1 teaspoon pure vanilla.
11 - ¾ cup roughly chopped walnuts.
12 - 1⅓ cups shredded coconut.

# Steps To Make It:

01 - Heat oven to 375°F. Lightly coat 9x13 dish with butter.
02 - Combine flour, 1/3 cup sugar, salt and butter in processor until mixture looks like crumbs. Push firmly into pan.
03 - Mix apples with lemon juice, place over base. Dust with mixture of cinnamon and sugar.
04 - Pop in oven for 20 minutes.
05 - Stir together leftover sugar, egg, milk, vanilla, walnuts and coconut. Pour this over the apple layer.
06 - Return to oven for another 20-25 minutes until top turns golden brown. Slice while it's still warm.

# Extra Notes:

01 - Slice while still warm for neat portions.
02 - Let it cool all the way before you eat it.
