19 - ⅔ cup plain cocoa powder.

# Steps To Make It:

01 - Take the finished cookies and coat their sides with crushed candy cane bits.
02 - Place the last cookies on top to close up your sandwich treats.
03 - Spread some filling on one cookie and get ready to sandwich it.
04 - Stir in the marshmallow creme until it looks nice and smooth.
05 - Beat together the shortening, soft butter, corn syrup, vanilla, sugar, and salt so you get a fluffy filling.
06 - Let the baked cookies cool down fully before you fill them.
07 - Pop them in the oven for about 12 to 14 minutes.
08 - Use a greased spatula to flatten out the tops if you want 'em smooth.
09 - Scoop about a quarter cup of batter for each cookie onto pans lined with parchment.
10 - Add in the dry mix and the cocoa mixture, taking turns with each, into the bowl.
11 - Toss in the egg and some vanilla, then keep mixing.
12 - Whip up the brown sugar, shortening, and soft butter until everything is light and creamy.
13 - In a fresh bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt with a whisk.
14 - Now stir sour cream gently into the cocoa paste until everything’s blended.
15 - In a bowl, mix cocoa powder and baking soda, then pour in some hot water to make a thick paste.
16 - Start off by heating the oven up to 350°F.

# Extra Notes:

01 - Super soft whoopie pies with crushed peppermint for fun winter vibes.
02 - If the creamy filling feels too soft, stash it in the fridge for a bit to stiffen up.
03 - Bake the cookies in advance and fill them later when you’re ready to snack.
