Chicken on Stovetop (Printable Version)

# What You’ll Need:

01 - 3 tablespoons canola or vegetable oil, split up.
02 - 4 chicken breasts without bones or skin (about 1 pound).
03 - Non-stick spray.
04 - Salt and ground black pepper.
05 - 1/2 teaspoon powder from garlic.
06 - 1/2 teaspoon powder from onions.
07 - 1/2 teaspoon basil that's been dried.
08 - 1/2 teaspoon paprika (smoky or regular).
09 - 2 tablespoons plain butter, split up.

# Steps To Make It:

01 - Warm up 1-1/2 tablespoons oil in your big pan over medium-high heat.
02 - Dry the chicken with paper towels, then rub with oil. Combine all spices and sprinkle all over the chicken.
03 - Put 2 pieces of chicken in the pan and don't touch them for 5-7 minutes. Turn them over, drop in 1 tablespoon butter, and cook another 7 minutes until they hit 165°F inside.
04 - Take out the cooked pieces and cover them. Do the same thing with the other chicken and the rest of the butter.
05 - Let the chicken sit quietly for 5 minutes before you cut and eat it.

# Extra Notes:

01 - Make sure your chicken isn't thicker than 1-inch so it cooks the same all through.
02 - Go with vegetable oil since it won't smoke as fast at high heat.
03 - Keep your hands off the chicken while it's cooking to get that nice brown crust.
