Spread it while it’s still nice and soft.

Stir in your vanilla now.

Toss in more powdered sugar if it feels too runny.

Mix in 2 cups of powdered sugar. Stop when it’s smooth.

Take it off the heat and just hang tight till it’s warm.

Let it bubble and keep stirring for 2 or 3 minutes.

Crank the heat up a bit so it starts a gentle boil.

Pour the milk in and give everything a good stir.

Stir in the brown sugar and let it melt in.

Get the butter melting low and slow in your pot.
