Simple Cherry Treats (Printable Version)

# What You’ll Need:

01 - 1 cup room temperature unsalted butter.
02 - 2 cups white sugar.
03 - 4 fresh eggs.
04 - 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract.
05 - ¼ teaspoon pure almond extract.
06 - 3 cups plain flour.
07 - 1 teaspoon table salt.
08 - 2 21-ounce tins cherry pie filling.
09 - 1 cup icing sugar.
10 - ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract.
11 - ½ teaspoon pure almond extract.
12 - 2 tablespoons fresh milk.

# Steps To Make It:

01 - Heat your oven to 350F. Give your 9x13-inch baking dish a light coating of non-stick spray.
02 - Mix the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and both vanilla and almond extracts, then beat well.
03 - Mix salt into flour, then gently fold this into your wet mixture until just combined.
04 - Put 3 cups of your batter into the dish. Spoon cherry filling on top. Add leftover batter in small blobs across the filling.
05 - Pop in the oven for 35-40 minutes until it's golden brown and passes the toothpick test. Let it cool all the way down.
06 - Stir icing sugar with extracts and milk until smooth. Pour over the bars once they're totally cool.
